Traditional research methods targeting cell population analysis typically yield averaged results from a large number of cells, which cannot distinguish the precise contributions of individual cells to sample heterogeneity, thereby overlooking individual differences at the single-cell level. Single-cell proteomics not only provides gene expression profiles of individual cells, offering a large dataset for cell subpopulation classification, but also, through protein-level detection, avoids expression level changes caused by post-transcriptional and post-translational regulation, providing a closer approximation to the regulatory essence of cells.
